Course Overview
The Composite Cylinder Course (CCC) has been developed in response to requests from Test Centres for additional training. As the industry seeks to extend the range of cylinders that can be inspected and tested, this course equips technicians with the necessary skills to handle composite cylinders.

This course is designed for IDEST test centre staff who are already certified as test centre technicians for steel and aluminium cylinders. The training provides comprehensive knowledge and practical skills to inspect and test composite cylinders according to EN ISO 11623:2002 standards.
Aim of the Course
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Understand the construction of composite cylinders.
- Confidently and competently visually assess composite cylinders both externally and internally.
- Determine whether a composite cylinder requires repair and understand the appropriate methods.
- Hydraulically test composite cylinders.
The course is structured as a workshop lasting about 1 to 3 hours. It begins with a short presentation covering the topics listed below, followed by a practical workshop session where composite cylinders are assessed externally and repaired as needed.
